Key changes (R1 vs R2)
- The R2 packs ~1700 watts of power compared to the R1’s ~1600 watts. While this doesn’t mean it can handle a bigger batch, the added power gives you more flexibility in adjusting roast settings.
- With that extra power, you also get an additional power level. The R2 features 10 power levels, while the R1 has 9.
- To boost the power, the R2 comes with revamped circuit and induction boards for better performance and precision. The power delivery system now has a margin of error of +/-0.5%, compared to +/- 2.0% on the R1.
- A new airflow sensor, called Flowsense by Aillio, automatically adjusts the fan speed to keep airflow consistent at every fan setting.
- There are also enhancements to the front panel UI and a better LED light, making it easier to see the coffee through the sight glass and in the trier. Plus, the door handle has been relocated to the left.
