Environmental Commitment
At Complete Cafe Services, we have proudly implemented several green initiatives to reduce our environmental impact.
Paper
In 2019, we adopted a cloud-based system, reducing the amount of paper used in everyday processes by an estimated 70%. In addition to this, most paper used is shredded for compost. Migrations to cloud-based systems can reduce CO2 emissions by 59 million tonnes per annum. This equates to 22 million cars off the road!
Metal
Our workshop recycles all recyclable metals, assisting in the conservation of our natural resources being mined. This reduces greenhouse gasses, landfill and water pollution. Significant energy is also saves from recycling metal. Manufacturing from raw materials is more harmful for the environment and the economy.
Dispatch and Delivery
To reduce waste, our shipments are packed with boxes, from deliveries to us. By reusing boxes and packaging material, we have had to reduce the purchasing of newly manufactured cardboard products by 100%.
Environmentally friendly products
At Complete Cafe Services, we have proudly partnered with suppliers to deliver environmentally certified, sustainable, non-toxic and carbon neutral products.
BioPak:
BioPak’s Taiwan production facility is the third largest paper cup producer in the world outside the USA and pioneered the development of compostable cups and lids. The facility is certified to ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems – and uses electricity generated from renewable hydro power. Our BioCups are made from paper sourced from managed plantations and coated with Ingeo™ – a commercially compostable bioplastic made from plants, not oil. They use a heavy gauge, premium grade board to produce the highest quality cups. We only use soy, water-based inks. They are the only products of their kind certified commercially compostable to Australian standards (AS4736) in Australia and New Zealand. The Australian test includes a worm toxicity assessment that is unique to this side of the world.
We use bioplastic lids and like the cups and bowls they are the only lids in Australia and New Zealand that are certified commercially compostable to AS4736 Australian standards.
BioPak donate their time, energy and 7.5% of all profits to environmental restoration initiatives with Rainforest Rescue (Australia) and GreenFleet (New Zealand), and community programs. The planting of trees in particular is a powerful solution to produce oxygen, store carbon and therefore tackle climate change. Thanks to BioPak’s customers, they have planted over 20,000 trees and purchased over 5 hectares of threatened rainforest regionally.
Cafetto
Cafetto is the industry leader in effective organic and eco-friendly solutions, offering cleaning products to improve equipment performance and simplify cleaning processes. Through its extensive product portfolio and global network, Cafetto provides cleaning products to both the commercial and domestic markets. We have partnered with Cafetto to supply environmentally certified cleaning products to both domestic households and the hospitality industry.
Maltra Foods
Maltra Foods is 100% Australian owned and a leading manufacturer passionate about bringing ideas to life. Maltra hold a range of certifications such as Certified Dairy Foods Safety Victoria, AQIS, BRC, HACCP, ISO9001, Organic Certified and Fairtrade to give you peace of mind.
Coffee
We have partnered with Australian roasters to deliver sustainably sourced, direct and or fair-trade coffee, with green beans purchased from estate farms and co-operatives where farmers receive a fair wage for their work.
Commitment to the Local Community
We have always made a commitment of helping our local community. Complete Cafe Services has been involved in a number of contributions.
Complete Café Services was the proud presenting partner and major sponsor for the local community coffee fiesta “Double Shot” held at the local Unley Park.
We proudly sponsored the Yankalilla Area School during their Edible Kitchen Garden Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction.
Complete Café Services contributed service to the community at the Combined Small Schools Sport Day at Scott Creek Primary School.
We donated to Warradale Primary Schools soccer season.
Sponsored and supported Red Faces and aided in raising $30,000 for mental health awareness in South Australia.
Contributed to the Community Christmas for KickStart for Kids.
Supported TeamKids – Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation, contributing to the care provided to thousands of children and their families who visit the hospital each year.
